Stevie V Brown is a 20-year marketing industry veteran, a professional coach, and CEO of The Change Starter; a boutique Marketing consultancy brand based in Australia and operating globally. The Change Starter specialises in all aspects of the marketing for medium sized growing businesses. Stevie advises clients on marketing strategies and the installation of marketing functions into a business.
About Stevie
Originally from the UK, Stevie studied Communications and Law; and obtained a 1st Class Honours degree in Advertising & Marketing. Whilst at university she worked her way up to the role of Recruitment & Training Manager for Next Retail; a well-known UK fashion store. She began her corporate career in Advertising in heavy-weight London Agencies, such as Saatchi & Saatchi and McCann Erickson.
Throughout her career Stevie worked with global blue chip clients to assess their business challenges, design effective campaign strategies and achieve measurable results. Starting out in project management, Stevie quickly progressed to strategic planning and leadership roles, heading up teams on key client accounts, including brands such as L'Oréal, Coca-Cola, McDonald's and Visa. Throughout her career, she has held a number of agency management roles where she has been involved in creating people performance systems, designing re-structures, team training and development, and operations.
Stevie's experience is broad-reaching, both in discipline and geography; having worked across multiple industries including consumer electronics, cosmetics, food service, FMCG, liquor, retail, leisure and healthcare in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia Pacific. Her knowledge reaches from brand strategy and product positioning to promotional marketing and activation; through to shopper marketing and category management.
In 2012, Stevie obtained an internationally recognised formal Coaching Qualification with the Life Coaching Academy. She went on to start her business The Change Starter in 2014, and now works with small and medium business clients, applying corporate quality strategic thinking and frameworks to growing businesses. Stevie is passionate about helping business owners and leaders to communicate their business positioning and pitch with confidence, and her coaching outcomes are always focused in this regard.
In 2021, Stevie achieved a Masters in Digital Marketing with Distinction from the Digital Marketing Institute for which she wrote a thesis exploring the relationship between small business owners and marketing services providers. Her thesis identified the core problems facing the marketing industry in a small business context and the challenges small businesses face in reaching their ideal client targets and was awarded a mark of 90%. Further developing the frameworks and models presented in her thesis, Stevie's first book was published in 2022.
In her 'spare time', Stevie is an expert for Business Blueprint and investor. Stevie has a passion for connecting people for mutual benefit. Stevie values open communication, accountability, and determination to succeed no matter what.
